The Rhythmik Group traces its roots back to 2010, when founder Genevieve Tan Shu Thung established the business in Malaysia while based in Dubai, UAE. From the very beginning, its activities were closely aligned with the vision and mission of the Sandhya Maarga Organisation, a spiritual organisation founded in 2005.
What began as a publishing house—producing books and an online health and wellness magazine—soon evolved into a multidisciplinary platform, including film production that conveyed meaningful values and inspired positive change within the community. True to its founding philosophy, much of the business' proceeds and resources were directed towards the charitable initiatives of the Sandhya Maarga Organisation. These included projects such as PawPrints Natural Rescue (animal welfare and rescue), Bridging Education Excellence (making education accessible for children of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds), the Golden Age Programme (supporting the elderly in the community), and Women of Wonder (empowering women facing discrimination), among others.
Originally known as Sandhya Maarga Holistic Living Resources, the publishing arm has since evolved into SM Resources and Publications, reflecting its broader role within the industry while continuing to uphold the Group’s ethos of service, empowerment, and holistic growth.
Growth in Holistic Wellness & Yoga Training
In 2013, the Rhythmik Group expanded its initiatives under the umbrella of the Sandhya Maarga Organisation, a spiritual organisation dedicated to holistic living and service to the community. With a vision to make authentic, traditional Yoga practice accessible while also sustaining its charitable and community-based projects, the Group introduced Sandhya Maarga Yoga classes in Malaysia. The first official studio was established in Klang, Selangor, which continues to serve as the Group’s headquarters today.
Over the years, the reach of Sandhya Maarga Yoga expanded across Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, Subang Jaya, and Penang. The introduction of a UK-accredited Diploma in Yoga Teaching—the first of its kind in Asia—attracted students not only locally but also internationally, with students from Hong Kong, Singapore, and India.
To accommodate its growing wellness initiatives, the Yoga-related arm of the Group was restructured and is now known as the Sandhya Maarga Holistic Wellness Hub, offering a wider range of holistic wellness programmes.
Expansion into Education & Training
In 2016, the Rhythmik Group established its headquarters in Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur, creating a dynamic hub for both wellness and education. The centre at Kuchai Lama offered a broad range of UK-accredited diploma programmes, including:
In addition to its academic programmes, the HQ in Kuala Lumpur also offered weekly Yoga sessions and introduced a range of unique facilities, including a planetarium-inspired relaxation space for Yoga students, a music recording studio, and a fully equipped drama stage with professional lighting. These innovations reflected the Group’s creative and innovative-thinking approach to holistic education and experiential learning.
All Natural Health Sciences programmes were offered under the Sandhya Maarga Holistic Living Academy, while non-health-related programmes—such as Speech & Drama, music classes, and language programmes—were brought under Sphaeram Nexus Academy, a sister company established to broaden the Group’s educational scope.
A key strength of Sphaeram Nexus Academy lies in its corporate training division, led by HRDC-certified trainers renowned for their professionalism. Over the years, the Academy has successfully trained numerous organisations (including Multinational Companies) both in Malaysia and abroad, cementing its reputation as a trusted provider of corporate learning and development solutions.
As the world embraced digital transformation in education, the Rhythmik Group was already ahead of the curve. Long before the global shift brought about by the pandemic, the Group’s education and training division had begun transitioning towards a strong online presence. This forward-thinking move allowed the Group to gradually phase out many of its physical centres, including the Kuala Lumpur headquarters, in favour of flexible and accessible learning formats that catered to a wider audience.
To streamline operations and improve efficiency, the Group consolidated its activities back to Klang, where its journey first began and where the majority of its team was based. This strategic move not only enhanced time and cost efficiency but also reinforced a sense of returning to its roots.
As part of this transformation, the Group expanded its Klang headquarters by acquiring an additional floor to house its growing activities. The new space was designed to create a cosy and collaborative environment—a place where team members could meet, brainstorm, and engage in team-building activities. The top floor was further developed into a creative hub, providing a beautifully designed space for film production and other media projects, reflecting the Group’s innovative spirit and commitment to nurturing both education and creativity under one roof.
Creative & Media Endeavours
Recognising the growing demand for high-quality and impactful media, the Rhythmik Group established Kreativ Kunste Productions as its dedicated creative arm. What began as the production of short films with strong social and moral messages soon expanded into a diverse range of creative services, including corporate video advertisements, website design, and social media management solutions.
Over the years, Kreativ Kunste Productions has grown into a trusted partner for businesses seeking to strengthen their digital presence and marketing strategies. Its portfolio spans from local enterprises to multinational corporations (MNCs), underscoring its versatility and reputation for delivering professional, results-driven solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Beyond its commercial work, Kreativ Kunste Productions plays a pivotal role in education and industry development. The company has trained countless students from disciplines such as creative media, mass communication, music, drama, and theatre production, equipping them with practical skills and hands-on industry exposure. Through structured industrial training programmes, students gain experience in real-world projects ranging from film production and stage performance to digital content creation and marketing campaigns. This dual focus on both professional services and talent development positions Kreativ Kunste Productions as not only a creative agency but also a training ground for the next generation of media and performing arts professionals.
Integrative Health & Wellness
While holistic health practices had long been central to the Rhythmik Group’s work, in 2021 the Group consolidated its healthcare initiatives under a dedicated entity—Vitalitas Integrative Health Centre.
Vitalitas focuses on complementary and alternative medicine, specialising in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homoeopathy, Aromatherapy, Sports Massage Therapy and other integrative healing modalities. Today, it is especially recognised for its pioneering programmes in special needs management & treatment, sports rehabilitation, and geriatric therapies, serving diverse communities with compassion and innovation.
In addition to its clinical services, Vitalitas places great emphasis on collaboration and partnerships. The Centre maintains strong working relationships with medical centres, hospitals, universities, and allied health and wellness companies, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. These collaborations enable the integration of conventional and complementary therapies, providing patients with well-rounded treatment options and improving outcomes across diverse healthcare needs.
Vitalitas also supports the education and training of future practitioners by partnering with academic institutions to provide research opportunities, clinical placements, and professional development programmes. This reflects its belief that advancing the field of integrative medicine requires both practical expertise and ongoing knowledge exchange within the wider healthcare ecosystem.
By combining clinical excellence, collaborative partnerships, and a holistic approach to well-being, Vitalitas Integrative Health Centre continues to stand at the forefront of integrative healthcare, committed to improving lives and redefining how communities experience health and healing.
